CORUS Italia had the chance to attend our seminar held in Milan back in 2007 where Fast-square presented together with some customer testimonial the Coil Cut Optimizer solution (CCO) specially developed for steel industry as well as other metals industries. Since then, CORUS decided to adopt CCO for the Italian facility based in Northern Italy, however they wanted to present the solution first to their international organization to make sure this choice was in line with global IT strategy. After this presentation and after an evaluation of the package, CORUS decided to go ahead with the deployment in Italy and agreed to evaluate deployment in other countries as well after successful completion of project in Italy. So, the project started in January 2008 and after a few months (April 2008) they where already using CCO to produce the first cutting plans. In July 2008 they went completely live and CCO is currently used daily for all the internal and external cutting plans (CORUS Italy makes quite extensive use of external subcontractors). As a result, CORUS Italy is now another CCO happy customer and Fast-square is starting to talk to CORUS group about the deployment of the solution to other countries.
